Hi, I’m Tallulah, and welcome to A Wild Lulacorn!
After 22 years as a staunch Wellingtonian, I made the impulsive decision to move to Auckland at the beginning of this year to start my degree in NZSL – English interpreting. I’m glad to report that I’m loving my life up here in Auckland, although my heart will always truly belong in Wellington.
I have many passions and goals in my life, and I wear a few hats. I’m a student, a writer, an avid reader, a dreamer, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a girlfriend, a Hufflepuff, a baker, a cook, a vegan, an animal lover, a feminist, a member of the LGBT community, a woman.
Currently I’m pursuing my degree in NZSL – English interpreting, while also training to become a facilitator on a life skills programme for teenagers. When I’m not at university I’m usually writing, reading, hanging out with my dear flatmate and her adorable son, or with my lovely girlfriend.
This blog has gone through a fair few identity shifts throughout its existence. It’s been a place where I’ve shared recipes, albums I’m loving, reviewed books and films, gushed about favourite T.V. series, whined about my life and so on. Recently I’ve taken a big break from my blog as I was struggling to find my focus. I didn’t want it to be 80% feminist rants and 20% random bullshit (which is what it was last year). It took me a while to figure out what I want this blog to be, but I think I’ve found it.
To me, this blog should be my creative outlet. It should be somewhere I can express myself, in both a creative and raw, real way. I have the hope that this will be a place that I can write about the things that are important to me, that I’m passionate about, or even just what’s going on in my life or my head. Somewhere that you all out there on your own sides of the internet can come and connect over those common interests.
So grab a cup of tea and get comfy. I hope you find something here that you enjoy!
